The 53rd Annual National Lake Trout Derby
May 27-29, 2017 on Seneca Lake.
Trout fishing is awesome in the Finger Lakes region of New York, especially Seneca Lake. At the 53rd Annual National Lake Trout Derby on Seneca Lake, anglers compete for prizes for the biggest for Lake Trout, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout or Landlocked Salmon.
Fishing will be from 6am Saturday to noon Monday, and participants can take their catches to one of three weigh stations – in Geneva, Sampson State Park in Romulus and Watkins Glen. The 2017 National Lake Trout Derby is open to adults and youth 5 and older.
The Awards Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 3pm at Lakeside Park in Geneva, NY.

Prizes
A $7,500 grand prize will go to the person who catches the largest lake, brown or rainbow trout or landlocked salmon.
There will be major awards in two divisions:
Lake Trout, ranging from $250 to $3,000; and
Brown trout, Rainbow trout and Landlocked salmon, ranging from $100 to $1,500.
Minor awards will also be given in juvenile, teen, senior, women and men’s divisions.
